Health Testing
All of the dogs which are part of our breeding programme are health tested clear for:
Hip Dysplasia (PennHIPP)
Elbow Dysplasia (Lavelle)
Hereditary Cataracts
Laryngeal Paralysis Polyneuropathy - LPN 1, LPN 2, LPPN 3
Leukoencephalomyelopathy - LEMP
We provide the results of these tests to the Worldwide Independent Leonberger Database. All potential puppy owners should request the results of health testing from breeders prior to making a decision before becoming a leonberger parent! Because of our commitment to increase the genetic pool of leonbergers in New Zealand we do not do repeat litters.
